Focusing on families.

Our Ethos

Post-genocide conflict, the Cambodian economy is growing, but sadly, with it grows the socio-economic gap between the rich and the poor. As the minority get wealthier, the majority of families living in dire poverty are being left behind. These families are living without access to basic human needs, are surviving hand-to-mouth and without proper education are succumbing to exploitative inhumane labor, prostitution and modern-day slavery

The need for support goes beyond teaching English to a child, our beneficiaries require all-rounded aid, which focus’ not only on the development of a child’s education, but also in supporting the day-to-day survival of their families. Through our integrated program offerings, we aim to ensure that the needs of each child and their family are met, so that they can effectively break free from poverty, in a productive and lasting way.

More than two-thirds of all children in child labour, work as contributing family labourers.

Understanding and addressing family reliance on children's labour is critical to broader progress towards ending child labour.

International Labour Organisation

There is no single clear-cut solution to the problems each family face, as such, REACH Siem Reap will follow through on each situation with the utmost care and will select provisions and program offerings on a case by case basis. Ongoing counselling and support from our team of dedicated teachers and social workers will be critical to the success of all programs.

By enabling a child to continue their education we are supporting not only the child but also their family.
