My name is Mien Doeung. I was born in Outrach village, Siem Reap province. I am the first child in my family, and I have four children. I attended school up from Grades 1, 2, and 3, then stopped because I had to work on the farm.
In 2010, I moved to live in town. During that time, I worked as a chef for 1 year. After that, I started selling fruits – I didn’t earn as much as possible to support my children.
I worked as a cleaner for 1 year and a half. However, due to COVID-19, the workplace closed down and I lost my job.
I never had experience working at an NGO before, but I knew this new challenge would be very good for me. Finally, I got it and I’m very happy to help to cook food for the children with such an amazing team.
