Project Support Officer

Tep Sokly

My name is Sokly Tep, I am 19 years old, and I grew up in a poor village in Cambodia.

In my family, there are five members, and I am a second child among three siblings. My father is a Tuk-Tuk driver and my mum is a housewife. Although my parents are poor and have less education, they never gave up on their children studying. They always persuaded me to focus and study hard through high school.

My parents registered me as an Anjali House student in 2014, and they supported me with school materials and education.

In 2014 I volunteered to teach English as a free time teacher at Anjali House Association because I love learning English and sharing my knowledge with other people. I had to stop when I started studying in grade 12. I successfully graduated high school because of my parents and Anjali House Association support in 2021.

Not to burden my parents, I decided to apply for a job at REACH. Here, I have been given a great opportunity to work as an English Teacher. Being a teacher is my dream job, I can share my education with my juniors and develop myself while studying bachelor’s degree in teaching English as a Foreign Language in the evening of PANNASASTRA University of Cambodia (PUC).

My goal is to persuade children to love studying and never give up on their studies. I want to become an effective teacher in Siem Reap province.
