Our global community is meeting up for an inspiring event that will change lives. Whether you run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, you’ll be part of the movement to create a brighter future for Cambodia families in need.
On March 30th, 2025, we will be hosting our inaugural Walk or Run for REACH in Princes Park.
Celebrating REACH’s 5th anniversary, we’re inviting all our Melbourne-based supporters and their network to join us for a half-day of activity, connecting and getting to experience a piece of REACH Siem Reap!
ABOUT THE EVENT
What: 4km Walk or 8km Run
When: Sunday, 30th March 2025
Where: Princes Park, Melbourne
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or a casual walker, we welcome participants of all fitness levels to take part in either our 4km walk or 8km run. But this day will be about so much more than just the race itself.

Our 2025 Walk or Run for REACH is our chance to create a truly shared experience for our Australian/Melbourne-based donors and volunteers, allowing them to feel deeply connected to the work we do on the ground in Siem Reap.

- Individual Ticket: $50AUD
- Couples Ticket: $80AUD
- Family Ticket (for up to x4 PAX): $150AUD

HOW THE FUN RUN CAME TO BE
A significant portion of our organisation’s fundraising strategy has been through providing shared experiences to our network and our community here on the ground in Siem Reap.
Through our charity challenges Side by Side and Ride to REACH – that have been running for 4 years and 2 years, respectively – not only have we been able to raise significant funds for our kids, but also connect those involved directly to our cause.

Since making it through the pandemic, over the past 2 years, our Founder Emily has been working hard to build our profile in Australia. As a charity, we’ve been fortunate enough that donors who recognise the importance of fundraising, have sponsored 2 trips for her to visit Australia.
While there, she has been able to connect with supporters and build valuable partnerships and lasting connections for our organisation. These new-found partnerships have been integral to the growth and impact of REACH’s programs.
Which is why we’ve strategically decided to make these trips annual.
With the board backing this decision, and thanks to our new partnership with Shelter Real Estate, we’re fortunate enough to be bringing a piece of the REACH Siem Reap experience to our Australian community!
Shelter Real Estate’s involvement with Cambodia has been long-running, with one of their company’s core belief in the collective consciousness to do good, create positive change and help others to succeed. In partnership the Global Village Housing program, Shelter Real Estate has been donating a significant portion of their commissions from their sales towards providing a home for families in need in Cambodia.
The idea for the 2025 Walk or Run for REACH was planted during Emily’s first trip in October 2023, when both her and Mardy visited Shelter Real Estate; a socially responsible leading Real Estate Agency in Melbourne, who are now supporting our Rice Rewards Program.
During their initial talks, Zali, their Director, was adamant about helping our team to set up a Fun Run on behalf of our kids. 11 months later, and this plan is now coming to fruition and we couldn’t be more excited.
This event will be a special opportunity for supporters to experience the spirit of our organisation in a hands-on way, creating a stronger sense of connection and involvement.
So many of our Australian supporters have been with us since the very beginning and have never had the chance to visit Siem Reap and see our work firsthand. The Walk or Run for REACH event is our way of bringing that experience to them and celebrating the community that has been essential to our mission from the start.
In addition to the 4km walk and 8km running course, the true excitement of the event will be the opportunity for our Australian supporters learn more about the organisation they’ve been supporting and meet some the dedicated team behind it all
A CHANCE TO CONNECT WITH OUR DEDICATED TEAM

Joining the Walk or Run for REACH event, all the way from Cambodia will be our founder, Emily, joined by our head teacher, Sokun Song!
Sokun’s personal journey is deeply intertwined with the work of REACH; click here to learn more. Coming from a background similar to many of our students and their families, Sokun has firsthand experience of the transformative power of education. It’s been an honour to have her as a key member of our team, helping to create brighter futures for our students and families at REACH.
Here’s what Sokun had to share about her time at REACH, and her opportunity to meet you in Melbourne:
“[…] I am confident and eager to share REACH’s mission with others. The sharing session and the speech must have a great objective purpose to help people understand […]. I want to be a role model to the team, and to our students especially to empower them to believe in themselves, their commitment, their skills, and to be hard workers, to help people and to be strong and confident. I want them to see how Cambodian girls or women can go far and especially for them to see that in real life, life can move and there is always the chance to be grow, develop and to be successful.”
At the Walk or Run for REACH event, you’ll have the chance to hear Sokun’s story and learn more about the crucial role she plays at REACH Siem Reap! Having been a member of the REACH team since the organisation’s inception, Sokun’s passion and dedication in supporting our community has only grown.
It’s one thing to read all about the work our team does, but it’s a whole new different experience to hear from our Founder and Head Teacher.
