Hello, my name is Saang Tip. I am 45 years old with three children, one son, 11 years old and 10 years old twin daughters, so there are five members in my family. I got married to a woman next to my village. She is the one who has been with me in a boat of life through windy sea for 12 years already. I was born in Chres Village, Candek Commune, Siem Reap Provine. It is about 10kms far from REACH Siem Reap. I have got 1 brother and 2 sisters. My father was a barber, and my mother is a housewife. They are getting old now and it was time to depend on their children for help.
My education background: I was a one of very proud top five students in the classroom when I was in primary school, but everything had changed when I started secondary school in about 1991 at Svay Thom Secondary school. I remember it was a very lonely time for me with my studies. My father got married to another woman which made my mother so angry and had very bad emotion with family. We often had arguments with violence in the family. No one cared about my study at that time, then I decided to drop out of school in Grade 8 in 1994. I remember those years after I dropped out of school, I had to work hard for my family which I was responsible for the farm work. Then I started feeling tired with the farm work and wanted to continue my studies, but my father could not help me. I felt I was alone in the world. Fortunately, I found WatBo Buddhist Training School then I got the idea I have my own way now. I had to be a monk so that could continue my study.
I asked my parents to stay in WatBo pagoda with warmly help from them to ask for permission to be a monk. I started my study again in 2003 there throughout being the temple boy and monkhood for 7 years. Then I left from the monkhood when I graduated from Buddhist high school in 2012. I got married and tried to work part time job in some charities as an English teacher with same time to continue my study at university. My wife helped me a lot during this period.
Now, I am here at REACH Siem Reap. Because I got more and more friends, they often introduced me to apply for a good job when I am in a bad situation with the job field. I have heard that REACH Siem Reap has been worked hard to provide very good education for rural Cambodian children and families. I am introduced to apply as the role of English teacher by Mr. You Sert. REACH is hiring one. Now, I am lucky to be here feeling excited
and firmly hope that I will learn more and more with the field of my job from REACH Siem Reap. Thanks.
