Hello! My name is Chan Sreynin. I am a HR Adminassistant. I am 18 years old. I have 4 siblings, 3 girls and 1 boy. I was born in Chikreng District, Siem Reap Province.
In 2012, I came to live in Sla Kram Village, Siem Reap Province. It was also the year I lost everything, including my well-being and my family, and there was no peace. Finally, what I feared the most happened: my parents separated. I lost my mother without knowing her well-being. Due to lack of money, my father decided to ask his workplace for a place to stay, and his boss agreed because of his love and perseverance. My father never encouraged me to stop studying, even though my family was poor. He tried his best to help me graduate from high school.
Currently, I have changed both my family and my place of residence and have come to live in Thlok Andong village, Siem Reap province. According to his boss. At that time, my parents and younger sister all worked there. Due to lack of money, my father tried to find work for them but could not find any. My father decided to ask his boss again to give my younger sister a job because she had just finished grade 9. Finally, his boss agreed to let my whole family work there. And we continued to live there.
I remember when my father’s workplace was first moved to Thlok Andong Village, Siem Reap Province. I heard that REACH School was recruiting poor families to give students the opportunity to learn English for free. They also received rice every month. At that time, my father asked me to study with them, which I was really happy about because all my siblings were enrolled. But what I didn’t expect was that REACH School not only provided free food and education but also facilitated my studies at a Khmer school. It also gave me many other opportunities. It was my first experience with Reach School.
Now my life is better because my parents worked hard to support us, and now my two siblings are studying at Khmer School and REACH School. Through hard work and poverty in my family, my parents also taught us to learn and seize opportunities to succeed in life. REACH School has a program called Youth Pathway to provide opportunities for all students to gain knowledge and receive scholarships to pay for extra hours. I also became a Youth Pathway student and studied and had many opportunities in the Youth Pathway program. Now, I have recently graduated from Youth Pathway.
I finally graduated from high school in 2025 from January 10, 1979, and I plan to go to USEA University to major in Law. After I graduated from grade 12, I had the opportunity from REACH to work there for a year to learn and gain experience in how to work.
During my time working, I learned many new things. I learned how to manage expenses as well as how to communicate well with the team. I am really happy to have the opportunity to work at my school. I am really lucky to receive academic support, job opportunities, supplies, and attention from the teachers and team.
