Hello friends and family…I’m reaching out to you to help support REACH.

REACH was founded in March 2020 by 2 Australians Joe McBride and Emily Williamson. It is a locally registered NGO in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Thomas and I first met Joe back in 2012 when we all volunteered together at New Hope Cambodia. The team at REACH are committed to improving the quality of life for some of Siem Reaps most vulnerable and impoverished children and their families. They provide access to education, shelter, nutritious food, healthcare and a safe living environment.

I was in Cambodia visiting the charity in March when Covid was declared a pandemic. Unfortunately only days after opening the school the Cambodian government mandated that all schools must close.

The Covid impact has been unprecedented…its been tough, challenging and has impacted our daily lives regardless of where we live in the world. Whilst Cambodia hasn’t experienced the health crisis experienced by other countries, with schools still closed and tourist travel restrictions in place, it is now experiencing an education and a socio-economic crisis. With many REACH families already living in extreme poverty this problem has become even more acute.

During these unprecedented times REACH has remained committed to continue providing emergency support and hope for its 135 families. With fundraising events and volunteer programs cancelled they have had to adapt to the current Covid climate and become creative about how they raise much-needed funds.

In January I will be dusting off my bike and riding side by side with the Reach team in Cambodia. Please click on the below You Tube videos to understand more…

I know that the Covid crisis has impacted on everyone financially but any donation regardless of its size would be very much appreciated.

In Cambodia the dollar stretches a long way, each month:
$20 can provide all seeds required for the Reach garden
$35 could provide a family of 5 with monthly food and hygiene support (rice, eggs, oil, fish, soap etc.)
$50 can repair and modify 4 broken bicycles in the REACH repairs shop
$75 can pay the entire schools electricity bill
$150 can ensure they can provide ongoing life-skills workshops with provisions
$220 will ensure that their current medical consultation and treatment budget is available
$330 can pay one Cambodian staff members monthly salary

Many thanks in advance for your support.

Sponsor, Compete & Raise

Jane is sponsoring an at-risk youth to cycle 200kms in 2 days in Cambodia and is fundraising AUD$1,000 on their behalf. In addition to this, Jane will be competing in the Side by Side challenge, completing 200kms in Thailand whilst our youths cycle in Cambodia to raise money for their community.

Show your support by helping Jane reach her target, no donation is too small!
