$1,360.00raised of $2,000.00 goal
We are raising funds for the NGO that we have been volunteering at since April when we arrived in Siem Reap, Cambodia. REACH Siem Reap is a community centre with integrated programs that aims to improve the living conditions of the beneficiaries and break long standing cycles of poverty.
Since the mandated closure of schools, REACH has been focussing on providing emergency relief to over 100 families. We have been directly involved in assisting the team packing and distributing food and hygiene supplies to the families. This has involved rice, eggs, fish cans, noodles, oil, soap bars and worming tablets.
The next distribution will be on Wednesday 9th September, and we are hoping to help REACH raise funds to be feed over 100 families.
These monthly packs are lifelines to so many families right now, who are suffering from a loss of income as a direct result of COVID-19. Before the global pandemic, these families were already living in dire poverty, and loss of tourism in addition to no government welfare has exacerbated this problem.
We have seen first hand the living conditions of the children and guardians at REACH and how important these crisis packs are for the families.
Any donation will go such a long way towards ensuring that REACH can continue to operate, and the children do not have to drop out of school and work to help feed their family.
